Senior Care in Rushville, Ohio

A tiny, National Register-listed historic village founded in 1808 along the old Zane's Trace route.

Rushville is one of the smallest places we cover — about 304 residents at the 2020 census — sitting in Richland Township in southeastern Fairfield County, roughly 35 miles southeast of downtown Columbus. Joseph Turner founded the village in 1808 along Zane's Trace, one of the earliest overland routes through the Ohio frontier, and named it for nearby Little Rush Creek. Much of the village is listed as the Rushville Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places, with buildings spanning log construction, Gothic Revival, Federal, Italianate, and Queen Anne styles built between the 1820s and early 1900s — an unusually deep architectural record for a place this small.

Rushville today is almost entirely residential, with no commercial senior-care infrastructure of its own.
