Senior Care in Etna, Ohio

A crossroads community in the far-southwest corner of Licking County, now surrounded by one of central Ohio's fastest-growing logistics corridors.

Etna is an unincorporated community and census-designated place at the intersection of U.S. Route 40 and State Route 310, in Etna Township, in the extreme southwestern corner of Licking County — about 25 miles east of downtown Columbus, just off I-70's Etna interchange. The 2020 census counted 1,209 residents in the Etna CDP itself, while Etna Township as a whole, which also takes in part of neighboring Pataskala, had a population of 18,896.

Etna's character has shifted a lot over the past decade. A string of large warehouse and distribution centers has gone up along I-70 in Etna Township, drawing new jobs and truck traffic to what had been a quiet farm crossroads for generations. That's changed the township's daily rhythm more than it's changed Etna's own small residential core, which still looks much like the community platted in 1832 — originally as "Carthage," along the newly built National Road, later renamed after the Sicilian volcano. A post office called Etna has run continuously since 1833.
