Senior Care in Sunbury, Ohio

One of the fastest-growing communities in Ohio's fastest-growing county, recently reclassified from village to city.

Sunbury sits in southeastern Delaware County and has grown explosively over the past decade and a half: the 2010 census counted 4,389 residents, the 2020 census counted 6,614, and more recent estimates put the population well above 9,000. That growth pushed Sunbury past the 5,000-resident threshold Ohio uses to distinguish a village from a city, and the 2020 census results formally moved Sunbury from village to city status. Delaware County as a whole has been Ohio's fastest-growing county for years, and Sunbury has grown even faster than the county average.

That kind of growth is almost entirely residential — new subdivisions built for young families commuting toward Westerville, New Albany, and Columbus — and it hasn't yet brought a licensed senior living community to Sunbury itself.
