What Is the Ohio Long-Term Care Quality Navigator?

The Long-Term Care Quality Navigator is a free, public dashboard built by the Ohio Department of Aging in partnership with the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Medicaid, and the InnovateOhio Platform. It grew out of the work of a nursing home quality and accountability task force appointed by the governor, made up of aging and long-term care experts along with consumers and advocates. The most recent version reportedly covers more than 1,700 facilities statewide — both nursing homes and assisted living or supportive living communities — and lets a family compare communities side by side on factors like customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance history, staffing levels, and other performance measures, all in one place. This is broader than the federal Medicare Care Compare tool, which only covers Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing homes rather than the full range of assisted living communities.
