Senior Care in Orient, Ohio
A small Pickaway County crossroads community best known as home to the Pickaway Correctional Institution.
Orient is a census-designated place of about 246 residents (2020 census) in Scioto Township, in the northwest corner of Pickaway County. It began as a station on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and was an incorporated village until 2013, when a resident vote of 38-30 chose to dissolve it back into unincorporated township status. Orient's best-known feature today is the Pickaway Correctional Institution and the adjoining Correctional Reception Center, both significant local employers that shape the community's economy far more than any residential or commercial growth does. The area also sits close to the tripoint where Pickaway, Franklin, and Madison counties meet.
