Senior Care in Georgesville, Ohio

One of central Ohio's oldest settlements, founded the same year as Franklinton, now a quiet unincorporated community near Battelle Darby Creek.

Georgesville is an unincorporated community in western Pleasant Township, in the southwest part of Franklin County, southwest of downtown Columbus and close to the Grove City and West Jefferson corridor. It has a genuine claim to local history: founded in 1797, the same year as Franklinton, it's considered one of central Ohio's very first permanent European settlements — Franklinton usually gets the credit as the county's first white settlement, but by some accounts Georgesville was actually laid out slightly earlier. Thomas Roberts platted the town and named it Georgesville after four men named George who lived there at the time. The settlement grew up around a gristmill — the first one in this part of Ohio north of Chillicothe — along with a church and several streets of homes, and had its own school as early as 1811.

Today Georgesville sits at the confluence of the Big and Little Darby Creeks, both federally designated national scenic rivers, and borders Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, one of the largest parks in the Columbus Metro Parks system. It remains small and largely residential, without commercial senior-care infrastructure of its own. We don't currently have a verified assisted living or memory care community in Georgesville, or in nearby Grove City, in our directory — that reflects what we've verified so far rather than a claim about the local market. Until we confirm something closer, families here are generally looking at central Columbus or the west side for the shortest drive to a verified option; see our full Facility Directory for everything we've confirmed. For in-home care, our care services page covers what that typically looks like in Ohio.

Ohio's statewide licensing rules for assisted living and memory care apply in Georgesville exactly as they do everywhere else — see our licensing explainer and memory care regulation explainer for the details.

Georgesville sits in Franklin County, close to Grove City and Darbydale. See the full cities list for the rest of the metro.
