Senior Care in Richwood, Ohio
A rural farm village in northern Union County, well outside the fast-growing Marysville/Dublin corridor.
Richwood sits in northern Union County, noticeably further from Columbus and the Dublin/Marysville growth corridor than most of the places we cover — it's a genuinely rural, agricultural community, and it feels that way. The 2020 census counted 2,222 residents, with recent estimates near 2,700. Richwood is home to the North Union Local School District's headquarters and hosts two agricultural fairs each year: the Union County Fair in mid-to-late July and the Richwood Independent Fair, one of the state's remaining independent county fairs, over Labor Day weekend.
We don't currently have a verified senior living community inside Richwood, or elsewhere in Union County, in our directory — see our Union County page for that honest gap. Union County Senior Services, based in Marysville, covers Richwood countywide with case management, in-home personal care, transportation, and meal programs for residents 60 and older, which matters more here than in most places given how far Richwood sits from the nearest licensed community.
The closest verified option we cover is Dublin in Franklin County, a genuinely long drive from Richwood — 25 miles or more depending on the route. Marysville, the Union County seat, is much closer but doesn't yet have a verified facility in our directory.
For in-home care, which is realistically the more practical option for many Richwood families given the distances involved, see our care services page. Ohio's statewide licensing rules for assisted living and memory care would apply the same way to any future Richwood-area community — see our licensing explainer and memory care regulation explainer.
