What Is MyCare Ohio?

MyCare Ohio is designed for Ohioans who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid at the same time — often called dual-eligibles — and it coordinates both sets of benefits through one managed-care plan rather than leaving a family to navigate two separate systems. We found reporting that, effective January 1, 2026, the program began transitioning to a "Next Generation" model built around fully integrated dual-eligible special needs plans, with the program expanding from a subset of counties to all 88 Ohio counties, including Franklin County, in phases through August 2026; families should confirm current plan availability and enrollment details directly with the Ohio Department of Medicaid or their county Job and Family Services office.
